This was the first song I recorded with my new microphone. I don't know where it came from, the words just seemed to flow. I had recently returned from my first big adventure to the city and I couldn't believe how my friends had gone from our small town to such a vast "concrete-jungle."
lyrics
I've got some friends who live inside of the city,
They bleed through her veins and they run like the trains
They just go.
I've got some friends trapped in a cage like the animals,
made of concrete it's just the skin that they wear
it goes on.
I've got some love to share with you my beauty queen,
show me your towers we'll scrape the sky with your angel wings,
well where'd you get those things?
Stare in my eyes, turn down the music a little bit,
Don't believe in heaven but if it's real this must be it
This is our small town, this is our hidden oasis,
It's better than nothing but its just how we live in this world,
it's our world
